Request Mobile Communications Device

Introduction

CCBC provides mobile communication equipment or reimbursement options (BYOD) to college employees to meet the business needs of the college.  Mobile communication devices are defined as cell phones/smart phones and mobile hotspots.

Procedure

Employees requesting a mobile communication device can complete the request form using the following Mobile Communication Device Request Form link: Mobile Communication Device Request

Employees can request a college owned device, reimbursement of the use of their personal device (BYOD), or the temporary use of a college-owned mobile hotspot.  Additionally, any employee completing the form must review and understand the Mobile Communications Device Procedure found under the Information Technology Policies and Procedures section on SharePoint.  

Once the form is submitted, the Organization Manager will review and provide whether the request will be covered by any grant.  If it will be covered by grant funding, then a grant accountant will receive the form for review and approval.  Once the department head and Vice President of Administrative Services reviews the form, a confirmation email will be sent to the requester with the decision and any additional instructions.

Requirements

Employees eligible for consideration work within roles that require mobile communications to fulfill college business duties.  These may include:

  • Be mobile for most of a work period
  • Respond to emergencies
  • Restore college services 24/7
  • Be available for making critical college decisions

All requests require approval from the department and Vice President of Administrative Services.  Requests being covered by grant funding will require additional approval.
