Overview
The computer screen, or monitor, is the part of the computer that displays visual information for the user. Sometimes, the picture on the monitor does not display correctly or at all; this can be caused by a number of different problems. Please see the procedures below for troubleshooting information.

Procedure
The procedures for troubleshooting monitor issues vary by issue.
If your monitor is displaying an erratic image, such as jumping lines or fuzziness:
- Turn off monitor.
- Unplug power cable.
- Press and hold power button for 30+ seconds, then release it.
- Plug power cable back in.
- Turn on monitor, see if issue is resolved.
If your monitor is displaying the image in only one color:
- Check monitor display cable plugged into monitor, make sure it is secure.
- Check monitor display cable plugged into computer, make sure it is secure.
- If issue persists, replace cable.
If your monitor is not displaying the computer image:
- Check monitor power cable plugged into monitor, make sure it is secure.
- Check monitor power cable plugged into wall or power strip, make sure it is secure.
- Make sure monitor is turned on and the power light is on.
