Overview
Computer slowness can be caused by a variety of issues. Multiple different types of computer memory are responsible for storing and processing data that your computer is using and programs it is running; it is possible your computer may need more memory to perform the tasks required. Sometimes, it will be because a program is demanding more processing power than usual. There may also be too many programs open at one time. It is also possible that the computer is infected a computer virus or other type of malware. Follow the procedures below to address computer slowness.
Procedure
- Close unused programs or Internet browser tabs and see if this improves performance.
- If the problem persists, try shutting your computer down and restarting it.
- If the problem continues to persist, you may need to scan your computer for malware. If it is a CCBC computer, please put in a related Service Request.
